The Gate isn't a structure limited to the viewing of those who seek to study it, the same as the Door is not. It exists in Wynn and is viewable to anyone who travels that way. Should you be interested in beginning your own research, no one will try and stop you. In fact...it's encouraged that you try and find your own answers. Doing so may lead you to discover things that others have not yet been able to.

Of course, if you'd first like to see the Gate with your own eyes, you should do so. You don't need a guide, do you? You shouldn't, not unless you intend to pass through to Erebos...

I would like to go through it at some point. The more information the better. I was told that you sometimes hold expeditions through the Gate.

Expeditions with the Order itself, although it's not beyond us to escort people safely to Erebos and back for a small price.
