[Isley can be heard chuckling through the device, and when Priscilla approaches, she will see on the screen that he is seated in the same room he broadcasted from the other day, surrounded by books.]

[And smirking.]

They look like they are having fun with you, Priscilla.

[Just a beat.]

Is there a reason you sent me this? It's certainly amusing.

[oh gosh. she wrinkles her nose and covers her face with her hands.]

Gah! I didn't mean to, I think Teresa's tail just kind of...

[She flaps her hands around.]

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt you for... how long was that running?

Long enough, I would say. I saw you running around tending to your menagerie, as well as nearly trip over your foxes.

[He waves a hand.]

It's not an interruption, however. I'm not doing anything else at the moment, so that provided an adequate break of the doldrums.

Anyway, I'm glad to provide... doldrum relief. I've been doldrumming a little lately, too.

By now you ought to be used to it.

[He rests one hand against his cheek, leans against it and smiles.]

Have you been? And why is that?

Oh... well, a lot of things. Life things. [You things.] ...maybe it's just Anatole.

It seems like there's always either a lot happening or nothing happening. There's never really a time when there's some things happening but not all things happening at once.

It does seem that way, doesn't it?

As though we're given a constant storm to weather through, or the dead silence of its eye.

[Isley regards Priscilla for a moment, that smile slowly vanishing.]

Why not think of things you like to do that could be done during those quiet periods? Turn the calm into something creative and involving.

[He drums his fingers atop the wood for a moment.]

You could host a fundraiser or set up an expedition party to explore the Mist or the island of Wynn. You and I could return to our study of Erebos, if you like. It does seem as though it's been a little while, doesn't it?

I don't really have anything to raise funds for! Although I was talking to Isabelle - err, she's new - about those dating auctions and she seemed to like the idea of bringing them back.

And I'm not sure I really want to advocate people going exploring in the mist, but the rest of it seems possible enough...

Another dating auction? I suppose it isn't a bad idea.

[In fact, it gives him a few ideas. Whether or not he'll act upon them is another thing altogether, of course.]

It would certainly cure the quiet, at least for a little while.

But if you would prefer not to have people explore the Mist, then why don't we set up a date to explore Erebos again? We need to finish our experiment, anyways.

Oh! That's a good point, we do.

With everything that's been going on, I really just... I almost forgot about that.

Truth be told, so did I. It didn't cross my mind again until just now.

What do you say to that?

I guess we've definitely given it enough time now, hm?

[Isley folds his hands together before him.]

So, the question is . . . when would you like to go, Priscilla?

Well, what about Monday? I don't think I have very much happening that day. Aside from the normal things.

That sounds good to me. We'll make a day of it.

An adventurous one, I guess.

[She smiles a little, and pets the head of... some fox. Whichever one.]

...how have you been, anyway?

Adventurous indeed.

[There is an almost completely undetectable distant look to Isley's eyes when he smiles.]

I am well. You're not worried, I hope. There's no need, after all.

...I suppose.

[She glances down a little, and then nods.]

I'm... glad to hear that. And no, I wouldn't say I was worried, really.

Hmm . . .

[He tilts his head.]

What about you? How have you been?

[He has an idea, but it is better to get her to say what it is that is on her mind. He does not want to make assumptions aloud, after all.]

...well. Doldrumming.

[She smiles a little, and picks up a cat, depositing it on her lap.]

Or... tired?

[Isley pushes himself up from his chair and begins to pace.]

Are you being vague on purpose?

I didn't know I was being vague.

[He stops and looks back at the Forge.]

In fact, you seemed more at ease before I interrupted the time you were spending with your pets.

[Oh. She rubs her face.]

I'm... not really sure what to say to that.

That's all right. [He's not especially surprised.] You're not required to say anything if you don't know what to say.

[He faces the camera again, arms folding over his chest.]

Of course . . . I am beginning to wonder if a habit is forming.
